Saint Anne 16" - 1829

Saint Anne, along with Saint Joachim, both descendants of King David, went on to become the Blessed Virgin Mary's parents. Saint Anne led a very virtuous and Holy life during her childhood, and had a very extensive knowledge and profound understanding of the divine Scriptures and its hidden mysteries and sacraments. While Saint Anne prayed for a worthy husband, Saint Joachim prayed for a good wife. God sent Saint Gabriel to pass on the message to Saint Anne to accept Saint Joachim as her spouse. While impregnated with the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Almighty desired that Saint Anne experience the infusion of the soul into the body of Mary most Holy. During this infusion, Saint Anne was filled with the Holy Ghost and was wrapped in an exalted ecstasy, with deep intellingences of the most hidden mysteries flooding through here.
