Frequently asked questions:
Q. How does the automatic feature work?
When the parishioner inserts a coin or bank note it triggers a beam to break, thus randomly selecting a candle on the stand. This candle will emit three flashing blinks to make the visitor aware that it is about to turn on. When 75% of candles are lit up, they will slowly start to turn off one a time, even before the allotted time is up - this is to ensure there is always unlit candles ready to attract new visitors.Â
Q. How do the electric features work?
There are two types of electric stands; one activated by placing the candle in the socket, and the other activated via a switch. For the socket-activation stands, these are simply candles which are placed on the stand by the visitor, in a way similar to a convential stand, however by slotting the candle into a low-voltage contact socket.
For the switch-activation stands, these already have the candles on the stand, meaning the parishioners need not insert any candles. A candle light is switched on by the visitor pressing the 'ON' button on the candle. Each individual candle comes with its own 'ON/OFF' switch.Â
Q. How long does the warranty last? If something goes wrong, how do I use the warranty?Â
The warranty on all automatic stands lasts for 2 years, while the warranty on all electric stands lasts for 6 years. Should you require, a long term maintenance contract can be provided to you, to ensure the stands last as long as possible and in the best of conditions. Should you need to claim on the warranty, please do get in touch with us.
Q. What are the electric white candles made of?
These have the shape of a regular candle, with a flame-shaped bulb at the top. These candles are made with a particular PVC mixture which imitates the look and feel of real wax candles.
Q. What are the electric church candles made of?Â
These are coloured cylinders, which give off light from the slots above. The interior contains real wax which, while it doesn't serve as fuel for the candle, gives the product a very realistic look.Â
Q. How long do the candles stay lit up for on an automatic stand? Can this duration be changed at any point?
The candles are preset to stay lit for one hour. This duration can be changed at the point of purchase, and further changes can be made at any point in time if required.
Q. Can both coins and bank notes be used to light a candle on the automatic stand?Â
Yes, the automatic stand accepts both coins and bank notes.Â
Q. How safe are these type of stands?Â
These stands are some of the safest and most economical stands available. Walls and ceilings will stay soot-free and stands and floors will stay wax-free. As there is no open flame, this dramatically reduces the risk of fires caused by unattended candles or accidents, ansd is perfect for those establishments whose insurance companies exclude the use of a naked flame.Â
