Saint Gustav, known as the hermit was a hermit monk companion of Saint Oscar, an apostle of Scandinavia. He is considered the first to be baptized in the region, in the twenties of the 9th century , and since then he travelled with his teacher as a missionary. According to Scandinavian accounts, it stood out for the ease of communicating with the inhabitants of the territory. Later, and until his death, he led a solitary life devoted to prayer and penance in northern Sweden.
